AN INNOVATIVE HUB FOR TESTING HYBRID SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES FLANKED BY SPACES AND LABORATORIES FOR TRAINING NEW PROFESSIONALS.

The new intervention, adjacent to Immergas corporate buildings, completes the production compartment with rigor and proportion, qualifying the dislocation of the main functions. ACADEMIA - Green Research Energy (GRE), the third project after Domus and Laboratorium, closes the linear system along the provincial road dedicated to research, experimentation and training.

The facility houses environments for the development of renewable and hybrid products, hydrogen plants, spaces for experimental testing, design verification, and assistance and training in new technologies. At the same time, the cladding of the Research Center was renovated to create a unified and continuous front visible from the provincial road; the technical cavity between the two buildings houses the facilities instrumental to their operation.

The two-level plate building has a clear and flexible distribution. On the ground floor, the semi-barycentric entrance organizes spaces for research and experimentation, laboratories, hybrid and hydrogen testing, climate chambers, and a living simulation, as well as plant rooms accessible from the outside. On the first floor are training rooms, offices, and a lounge and refreshment area, arranged around a central hanging courtyard that serves as the innovative heart and can become outdoor exhibition space.

The spaces on the street front alternate opaque and glazed surfaces for a harmonious relationship between interior and exterior, ensuring comfort and hygienic-environmental requirements. The monochromatic metal cladding, with microperforated vertical panels and blades, lightens the volumetric mass and gives rhythm to the facade, explicitly declaring the technological and productive nature of the work.

A horizontal and dynamic architecture, capable of adapting to the flow of time and people, reflecting the innovation of the Immergas campus and dialoguing with the Po Valley landscape rich in cultural and literary suggestions.
